Step #1
Lewis Designs believes it is essential to see the space to be transformed firsthand rather than simply viewing blueprints, drawings or photos via email or in a showroom and that is why we come to you to discuss your project. This allows us to get a good feel for the entire home as well as the space to be remodeled. Details of the home will be taken into consideration: exterior architecture, age of the dwelling, surrounding neighborhood, existing design elements, natural vs. artificial light provided to the space, flow of traffic between rooms, trim elements like moldings, doors and furniture, color schemes and more.
By examining the space in its entirety we can provide a complete plan for your room(s) to be transformed which will be so much more than placing cabinets in a space. Sometimes interior walls can be removed or added to increase functionality. We will listen closely as you explain how the space will be utilized, discuss different lifestyle issues, look at any photos or drawings for the space, and discuss budget. We can give you a price range at this time since we have a better idea of what want. We will discuss cabinet styles, door styles, and different finishes that appeal to you. We can refer you to clients we have done similar work for that will provide references for us and allow you to see their project.
Our first meeting in your home is free of charge and typically takes about one to two hours. If you would like to proceed then measurements of the space are taken so that an AutoCad drawing and 3-D model of the project can be produced and presented at our next meeting.
Step #2
Lewis Designs comes to your home again with our proposed design. We will give you pricing and a time frame for completion at this visit. Lewis Designs’ pricing always includes design, manufacture, and installation of your cabinetry. If changes to the design are desired we discuss and agree upon those and new drawings will be created. When you agree to proceed with Lewis Designs as your contractor for cabinetry and/or the remodel we proceed to Step 3.
Step #3
Lewis Designs begins construction of the cabinetry in our Plain City facility. While cabinetry is being produced door and drawer styles, trim style, hardware, and finishes will be decided upon among other things. The options are limitless since everything we do is custom! Since the choices can be overwhelming we have associates who can help with decision making.
Step #4
Cabinets are ready for installation. If other work has been performed in your home either by us or your contractor it has been coordinated so cabinets are delivered according to schedule. It typically take three days for our cabinets and trim to be installed by the expert trim carpenters we work with. Installation is included in the cost of Lewis Designs cabinets.
